šŸ“Ein Kerem We’ve been to this neighborhood i šŸ“Ein Kerem

We’ve been to this neighborhood in Jerusalem a few months ago. We left later then we planned, and special events took place there that day.

By the time we arrived it was so packed with people there was no parking in the touristic area.

To top it all, the hilly roads were definitely not the kind of driving I’m accustomed to and so our relationship with the place started on the wrong foot.

After a lot of frustrating circles around the area we finally found parking a bit further away and had to walk back to where everything was happening.

That’s when everything changed. We were finally able to look around and enjoy the view without the stress of driving. And it was beautiful!

The first church we saw was far away on the hill and it’s golden top was reflecting back the sunshine.

Walking around there was so nice. This cool old and new architecture, the stone walls that are so familiar with Jerusalem, the green hills, narrow streets, cute little churches, art everywhere and the food (Karma restaurant was so good!).

All of those and more are the reasons why we think Ein Kerem was such a fun visit, and why you should travel there too!

Do you have any recommendation for a visit in Jerusalem? Tell us about it!

ā¤ļø 5 things to do in Israel through February ā¤ļø 5 things to do in Israel through February

Can we keep it up? We’re going to try and put up here 5 recommendations for every month of the year to visit in Israel!

February is a cold rainy month but there are some beautiful days in there and nature goes wild. So here are the places we loved visiting through this month:

• Tel Megiddo (Armageddon)
• Rosh Ha’ayin Forest
• Bar’am’s Ancient Synagogue
• The Sataf
• Ein Kerem

Do you have any recommendations for us? The month just started! 🄳
šŸ“Chicago Riverwalk This beautiful road along t šŸ“Chicago Riverwalk

This beautiful road along the Chicago river is even better looking in the summer!

You can walk along it, enjoy the view of the many unique buildings around it, eat or drink on the way in one of the bars and restaurants in the area or just sit and enjoy the river in front of you.

You can also rent a kayak or boat and row your way around.

While we were here in the winter this was a great place to finally reunite with the sun after walking between those huge buildings (though it was still so so cold šŸ˜…).

And in the summer everything was open and it was so nice to just sit and hang.

Pictures here come out breathtaking as well so we definitely recommend this place as a Chicago destination! You should clear a space in your itinerary for this one. You wouldn’t regret it.

šŸ“Chicago’s Botanic Gardens. Just from looki šŸ“Chicago’s Botanic Gardens.

Just from looking at the feed you probably know how much we love our nature getaways.

While traveling Chicago we couldn’t avoid the one thing that is just that!

Alec is from Chicago and used to spend so much time here as he grew up.

This huge piece of land holds many themed gardens and a few natural areas and you can spend so much time there.

We got to visit the gardens twice:

The first time - in the summer, it was perfect, everything was in bloom, the bonsai trees exhibition was out and so special, and we had so much fun following some geese around (or was it the opposite?).

The second time we visited was in the winter and a lot has changed! The weather was not so perfect anymore, it was freezing and we visited in the evening. The sun was gone for a while at the point of our arrival and a light show was in place.

The winter lights show was the most beautiful one we’ve been to yet. The beautiful gardens we knew were now covered in all kind of lights and we couldn’t take our eyes of anything and everything around us.

So what am I trying to say? The Botanic Gardens in Chicago is something you should not miss the next time you visit there! You’ll enjoy every moment and immediately be ready for more.

Have you been there? Share it with us!

šŸŽ‰ It’s Tu Bishvat! Happy birthday! Today is šŸŽ‰ It’s Tu Bishvat! Happy birthday!

Today is the fruit trees birthday in the Jewish religion!

I wouldn’t bore you with all the details but basically on this day every year we plant trees and eat lots of dried fruit.

is it a weird holiday? Fun for sure šŸ˜…

This is also a great time to show appreciation for nature around us and everything it gives us.

Moments like this one on this reel for example are priceless and I can never have enough of them 😊
ā„ļø Traveling to wintry destinations. This is ā„ļø Traveling to wintry destinations.

This is a very debatable topic and there’s no right or wrong here, we just want to provide you with the experience through our eyes so that it’ll be easier for you to decide what you think about it.

Traveling in the winter means it’s much colder. It might rain or snow and that might prevent you from going outside.

It means that you need to bring more clothes to layer up and that your luggage will probably get bigger.

It means that some places might be closed because they’re open at certain times of the year.

It also means there’s less tourists which means less waiting in line and cheaper travel options like flights and accommodation.

So, if you absolutely hate the cold and weather - don’t go. There are some places around the world where winter is less dominant or don’t have winter at all, and you can visit there during this time of year.

But if winter excites you this could be another cool adventure for you!

We have mixed feelings here, we love the outdoors just as much as the museums and other indoor experiences and winter might prevent as from the outdoors, but it wouldn’t stop us from traveling and exploring new experiences.

What do you think?

šŸ“The Hula. Did you know that around half a bil šŸ“The Hula.

Did you know that around half a billion birds fly over Israel every migration season??

There are two migration seasons:
One in the fall - the birds fly toward food sources.
The other one is in the spring - toward their nesting areas.

Some migrating birds fly between Africa and Europe and Israel is like a bottle neck for their route, since Israel is right between the Mediterranean Sea and the Arab deserts.

Because of that, in fall and spring, many birds fly above Israel and rest here for a night. And we get to enjoy them while they cover the skies! šŸ˜„šŸŖ¶
